What you’ll do

As a user assistance developer for SAP Central Business Configuration, you will enable users to work with this new Cloud product that will play a key part in the Intelligent Enterprise.

User assistance includes texts on the screen, embedded help, user guides, technical guides (like security information), and multimedia information.

In close collaboration with the product owners, development teams, and user experience designers, you will create user assistance assets that help the various user roles in their daily tasks. For this aim, you work with the user interface and support the creation of multimedia content to enhance the user experience.

Additionally, you create background information about the concepts, features, and processes of the new tool, define product terminology, you proofread and edit content for usability, readability, and linguistic correctness. You will work in a team with four other user assistance developers, distributed across Bangalore, Shanghai, and Walldorf. A lot of the communication and collaboration will be in a virtual mode.

Qualifications and skills

We look forward to enhancing our user assistance team with new members who have

• A good to an excellent university degree in technical writing or a related subject, or a language-based university degree.
• Excellent written and spoken skills in English, ideally first-language proficiency in English.
• The ability to express complex information in a clear and precise manner.
• Some experience in technical writing or education is a plus.
• An ability to work to tight deadlines, deliver on time, and ensure high quality.
• Experience in working in virtual, multi-cultural, distributed development teams is a plus.

As a user assistance developer, you have good communication and writing skills; an additional experience in multimedia or video tools would be welcome. We expect that you are willing to acquire product knowledge and learn new skills as required.
